It is with regret that we have been forced to cancel the Yorkshire Charity Ball 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 issues.
We have not taken this decision lightly but with deposits due shortly we were not in a position to guarantee the event could occur and felt that as a charity, we could not find ourselves in a position of cancelling at the last minute and losing precious money that should be spent on better causes.
We thank all who expressed an interest and as a committee we will be busy planning the comeback ball in 2021.
The Yorkshire Charity Committee.
Over a period of over 25 years the Ledston Charity, named after the annual and very successful Summer Ball held in the grounds of Ledston Hall, was responsible for raising over £300,000 for Yorkshire Based Good causes, both large and small.
In 2012, two significant things happened, the launch of the organisation as a registered charity and a new name to go with it. It was felt that changing the name to the Yorkshire Charity reflected more accurately the purpose behind our existence, and so the Yorkshire Charity was born.
Our aim is to raise funds to benefit local charities and individuals.
We take great care in selecting who benefits from the money we raise and we try to make sure as many willing people benefit as possible. The Yorkshire Charity will continue to focus it’s support in four main areas, Health and Human Services, Education, Civic and Community Programmes and the Arts. No profit making organisation will be considered and every penny raised goes to local charities, charitable organisations and charity based individuals.
We host an annual grand theme ball each year and having fun and digging deep has always been at the forefront of what we do.
If you are interested in attending the ball for the first time, or returning for another visit, then we would love you to be a part of what really is a magnificent event. Take a look at the pictures from the previous events to give you a flavour of what the evening entails
